Poetry is everywhere

Founded by Poet Laureate Simon Armitage, the National Poetry Centre are creating a new home for poetry in the UK – right in the heart of Leeds. We worked with their team to refresh their brand identity.

We retained the emblem from the centre’s old logo but made it work harder and in more dynamic ways.

We looked at the brand as a whole, including illustration, imagery and brand language. The National Poetry Centre folks were a joy to work with, and we loved partnering with Maraid again on the new website. A total pleasure.

A youthful sub-brand

As the National Poetry Centre and National Literacy Trust prepare to launch the first nationwide Young Poet Laureateship, they asked us to create a sub-brand for it. We brought on board the fabulous Lauren Hall to provide illustrations, connecting with the programme’s big aims to inspire a new generation of poets.
