Youth Hostels Association (YHA)
Spring campaign creative to inspire adventure
The Youth Hostels Association (YHA) asked us to work on their spring 2025 campaign creative, and develop a visual style that could adapt for seasonal campaigns in the longer term.
Using YHA’s distinctive brand shape and colour palette, we developed a campaign creative that showcases the variety of locations and accommodation types, and the different adventures YHA offers.
We came up with the concept of ‘spring is for exploring’ to hang our visual assets and copy onto. The idea was to invite people to adventure their own way at the YHA’s varied locations – using their hostels as the base for longer days spent exploring.
A guide to walks from YHA’s doorsteps
As well as campaign creative, YHA asked us to create a walking guide to celebrate their Festival of Walking. Our guide showcases six of the best-loved routes starting and ending at their hostels.
Our brief was to create a self-led guide that would be accessible to newly confident walkers. The guide also aimed to make clear the longstanding connection between the YHA and walking.
Alongside the main features of each recommended walk, we included details on local nature, heritage or cultural highlights, as well as what makes each hostel location unique.
Our copywriter Kat had a ball writing this guide to her favourite pastime (sadly her attempt at walking the Snowdon route was rained off!). And Glenn dusted off his fountain pen to draw some Hergé-inspired landscapes.
