Eleven were commissioned by the University of Sheffield to create an identity for New Ground; a festival of art, music and literature in and around their new Faculty of Arts and Humanities.
We created a beautiful set of illustrations – one for each event – to represent the featured artist or speaker; a book for poet Simon Armitage, a ballot box for Roy Hattersley and a hat for Carol Ann Duffy (for her collection of poems for children 'The Hat'). These simple line illustrations were embellished with shoots of grass, plants and flowers to tie-in with the festival title.
New Ground was a great success, and this was one of our favourite projects.
